Now at this time and age, humanity has become too busy with all that has been going on around us. From long working hours to social media crazes to technology addiction to insane traffic; people have barely any time to spend on their everyday bonding time with those they love and live with. Family is the foundation to human interaction. Every child learns how to interact through his everyday encounters of communication with his family. Family is the nucleus of every generation.
This post revolves around ways to enhance your time spent with your family. Celebrate it and appreciate it! Here are some tips on how to accomplish that :
1- Family weeknights in! Not all family members are available to stay at home on weekend; they may have plans with their friends or may have conferences to go to etc. Thus, it is a good idea to take advantage of the time where everyone might be at home at a certain time; which is after work or after school. Enjoy at two weeknights of family bonding. These nights may include a game of charades or a game of cards or maybe a family movie and some popcorn that all family members can enjoy.
2 - Family Weeknights Out! These may include going to a family restaurant to enjoy a nice family meal while you can talk about what is going on in your lives to each other. These nights may also include a night out to a bowling alley or to the cinema.
3 - Every Saturday morning have a big family breakfast! Each Family member can take a Saturday of the week and be responsible for making that breakfast! Let each of you show your love to your family by cooking the best breakfast for them!
4 - Enjoy a nice warm day outside with your family. It can be a picnic in the park or a barbecue lunch in the backyard, or maybe a trip to the beach!
5 - Make a family board that you can hang up in the living room where each family member can write something sweet to the other family members like : " Dad good luck in your speech at the conference today!" or " Lilly, you are gonna do great in you math test today!" or "Mom, thank you for making my bed today!". Doing something like that can always revive the love at home.
We should all be thankful to having a family of our own, love them, appreciate them and enjoy your time with them because no one in the world can replace them for you. Always remember that there people out there in the world who wish to have a family of their own to bond with.
Mandy, 26 years old , is a very successful lecturer in the English Department in a well known university. Everyday, she wakes up at the same time, goes to work from 8:00 am till 3:00 pm, takes a shower, makes dinner, watches TV and may engage in a social event once or twice a week. Mandy has always felt like there is something missing. She feels successful, however; she does not like to be defined by her career. She has always had a love for baking. She has always dreamed of being in a parallel universe where she owned her own patisserie. She wishes she can make that possible.
Here are some tips for Mandy which may help her make all her dreams come true without having them clash with one another;
1 - Time management. The core to any ambition that you want fulfilled is to be able to manage your time. You are awake at least 14 hours during your day. Use your time as a fuel, think about how you can embed some time within your day to fulfill that dream that you always wanted to have. Even if that time constitutes of two hours a day.
2 - Stay open to options, life is not black or white. In Mandy's case, she can certainly explore many options to make her dream come true. She can start up a small online business right from home! This way she can still attend her daily job as well as manage orders on the go. She can use her time after her lecturing hours to bake and do what she loves. She can also collaborate with a patisserie and bake certain specialty orders. She can do so much to fulfill her dream.
3 - Multitasking skills. Multitasking comes with time management. In order to be able to juggle with more than one aspect of your life you must be able to multitask so you can accomplishment as many tasks as you can. This comes with perseverance and determination as well as your love towards the ambitions you want to be accomplished.
4 - Managing more than one thing at a time could be stressful. Always give yourself some time to absorb it all. Give yourself a break, that is what weekends are for. Nadia looks in the mirror, she does not like what she is looking at. Nadia looks at her bank statement, she is not content with her salary (Knowing she makes better than the average 28 year old). Nadia looks out her window and sees her neighbor rocking a model's body while taking her morning run; Nadia feels envious and shuts her blinds. Nadia decides to call her friend Sophie, Sophie picks up and starts complaining about every aspect of her life. Nadia regrets making that call and feels worse than she did before making it!
How much negative energy did you get from reading the previous six lines? A LOT I guess...
Well, in order for Nadia to get out of that negative rut, she needs a 180 degree switch of attitude towards herself and her life.
Here are some tips for all you Nadia(s) out there which will hopefully help you improve your confidence and attitude towards yourself and your life :
1 - Think positively and be an optimist. Don't look at the negative side of things; If you have a curvy body, embrace it, many women would kill to have it. If you are not satisfied with your more than average salary; be thankful for it cause there are many women out there whom did not get an opportunity to get a decent education to find a proper job like yours.
2 - Love yourself. Think about all the accomplishments you have done in your life. Think of all the people that you have positively influenced. Think of all the positive feelings you have provided for your loved ones and praise yourself. You deserve it.
3 - Look at yourself in the mirror and love what you see. You are unique, there is no one else in this world that looks like you. You are the only person in the world that has your qualities. How special is that? Look at the mirror and smile, let your beauty shine from within and tell yourself :" I am unique, beautiful and I am one of a kind... I am Me."
4 - Pamper and spoil yourself. You deserve it! Light up an invigoratingly scented candle and give yourself a spa day! Make a homemade facial mask and soak the negativity and stress away in a nice hot bath and put on some zen meditation music in the background.
5- Go on a stress free shopping spree. "Stress free" as in do not force yourself to buy a pair of pants that is two sizes smaller than what you actually are just to prove that you can still fit in that size! A woman's body changes over time and it is OKAY for it to change. As long as you are healthy, you are on the safe side.
6- Be thankful to all the blessings you have in your life. What you may be taking for granted in your life could be your neighbor's lifelong achievement goal. Count your blessings everyday and be thankful for them.
7 - Remove any negative influence you have in your life. You do not need to put up with external negativeness. If your friend is unhappy with her life; don't let her drag you down with her. Try to channel you optimism and positivity to the ones that you love starting with yourself.
Follow the listed tips starting now and you will see how an instant feeling of content and confidence will spread within your soul, body and mind.
Be inspired by those influential quotes about success, read them and channel the motivation within you so you can be at the peak of your success :

- Henry Ford

– Oprah Winfrey
“Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and build a life you’re proud to live.” –Anne Sweeney (President of Walt Disney)

“Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know. That can be your greatest strength and ensure that you do things differently from everyone else.” – Sara Blakely (Founder of Spanx – Worlds Youngest Female Billionaire)
After staring into space for a while, Lilly looks at the clock sitting on the wall above her dining table. She looks at it with absolute shock! It's 7:00 pm already in she hasn't done anything in her day!
We can all relate to Lilly, I am pretty certain that all of us have experienced something similar to Lilly's situation in a way or another. It is certainly not the best feeling in the world!
To avoid this kind of negative encounter and to make sure you make the most out of your day; read the following tips:
1- Before going to bed, make a mental but preferably a written note of the things that you want to be done the next day.
2 - Give yourself personal deadlines. Whether it is for the books you are reading, for the chapters that you are studying or certain new hobbies you are taking on; put a deadline for each accomplishment on your calendar. This way you will be able to fly your way through your aspiration list like a feather in the wind.
3 - Take breaks between daily tasks. If you have to finish the three chapters of a book you're studying for an exam; take a 20 minute break of something you like to do between chapters. This break could include your daily stretching exercises, or a nice hot shower, or maybe an episode of "friends" on Netflix.
4 - Expand your knowledge capacity. Every day, give yourself the opportunity to learn something new. Make time for that; Unlike other species, we as human beings are blessed with the ability to comprehend, learn and be intelligent. Expand your knowledge by watching a certain documentary, or reading an article about something that is out of your comfort zone.
5 - Manage your time. In the morning, make a written estimate of how much time you need in order to accomplish each task you need to do. Give yourself real time estimates and do not make yourself handle more than you could. The most important thing is not to let stress creep in, because if it does, it will interfere with the harmony of your day's flow.
When you follow the simple tips that have been listed above; at the end of the day you will realize how much you have made out of your day. A definite guarantee is that you will certainly be proud of yourself !
It is finally five o'clock and you have just finished the last of the paperwork in the office....PHEW! Suddenly, the alarm on your phone goes off reminding you to pick up your dry cleaning so you can have the perfect velvet dress ready for tomorrow's big company conference; you are the key speaker! On your way to the dry cleaner's you realize you need to pass by Walmart to pick up some boneless chicken breasts and pineapple cause you promised your husband that you are going to make him his favorite sweet and sour Chinese dish for dinner! Your head is about to explode! You go back home exhausted and you just want to throw yourself on the couch and sleeep.....Not the perfect serene day right?
Instead of stressing out about the reality of your day to day life, it is important for you to just pause for a second and grasp it in your hands and take control. You need to tell yourself that this is your life and you get to control the stress factors in it; even if it was just for 30 minutes during the day. You need some "ME TIME". During your stressful day, keep telling yourself : "It is okay to be stressed "right now" because I am going to treat myself in some "ME TIME" later on today ! Talk about positive reinforcement!
Some "ME TIME" Ideas :
1- Light up a beautifully scented candle and indulge in a hot bath and a warm cup of hot chocolate while watching an episode of your favorite TV show on your tablet
2- Listen to some calming zen music while writing in your journal on your balcony
3 - Read your favorite book in bed
4 - Go for a walk around the block
5 - If it is warm outside, go for a quick swim to clear your head
Always remember that "ME TIME" is subjective, all you have to do is give yourself 30 minutes a day of something that you really love to do. This way you will recharge and continue doing your daily activities with a better mood and a broader perspective on your life.
We all love to be happy, look for things that make us happy, say we we want to be happy. Then what is happiness? Is it a feeling? Is it a thought? Is it a state of mind?
Happiness is subjective, it differs from one person to another. Happiness to you can be the smell of your morning coffee whereas for your sister; it can be that new pair of shoes that she has saved up for all last month. As long as it is something that sincerely puts a smile on your face then at that very moment you can consider yourself "happy". Happiness is a collective series of things that are in your life that make you feel good. These things may include a good husband, a beautiful home, a respectable job, a TV series that you love so much, good health, a talent and many many more blessings.
But the key and the most important foundation to happiness is the secret of looking forward to something. Its looking forward to seeing your good husband, looking forward to watching your favorite TV series, Looking forward to going to work,..etc. is what really makes you happy. If you don't look forward to tomorrow, how are you going to wake up in the morning? We all subconsciously are on a continuum of looking forward to things, things in our lives that make us happy....
So keep looking forward to waking up everyday, even if its for the hazelnut latte that you have every morning and find that feeling of tranquility and peace that lays at the very bottom of it, maybe at that very instant moment you will experience of what us people call "happiness".
